The year may be coming to a close, but there are plenty of new TV shows still to look forward to in 2024. The MCU may be slowing down its big-screen output in the new year, but Hawkeye spin-off Echo is kicking off its small-screen offerings in January, with Agatha: Darkhold Diaries still to come a few months down the line. There's also World War 2 drama Masters of the Air, starring Elvis' Austin Butler and Saltburn's Barry Keoghan, Prime Video's Mr. and Mrs. Smith reboot, and an adaptation of hit video game Fallout.
Plus, there's a new season of True Detective on the way and the long-awaited The Walking Dead spin-off about Rick and Michonne – and that's just the start. We've got your complete guide to all the most exciting new TV shows coming our way in 2024.

Today, Ruby Sunday meets the Doctor, goblins, stolen babies and, perhaps, the secret of her birth."
Echo
Echo release date: January 10, 2024
Available on: Disney Plus
Hawkeye spin-off Echo is dropping in January. While story details are thin on the ground, we know it will revolve around Alaqua Cox's Echo. Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio and Daredevil's Charlie Cox are reportedly set to return in Echo. All episodes will drop at once, bucking the MCU trend of weekly episodic releases.
True Detective: Night Country
True Detective: Night Country release date: January 14, 2024
Available on: HBO and Max (US), Sky and NOW (UK)
The fourth season of True Detective follows Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) who are tasked with solving the mystery of six men who, while operating the Tsalal Artice Research Station in Ennis, Alaska, simply vanish without a trace. Danvers and Navarro will be forced to confront their own darkness, and dig into the haunting truths that lie underneath the ice.
Masters of the Air
Masters of the Air release date: January 26, 2024
Available on: Apple TV Plus
New World War 2 drama Masters of the Air is a collaboration between Tom Hanks' and Steven Spielberg's production companies and serves as a sequel to the duo's previous small-screen offerings: 2001's Band of Brothers and 2010's The Pacific. Each of the previous series had large ensemble casts, and Masters of the Air is no different – Austin Butler, Barry Keoghan, Callum Turner, and Fionn O'Shea are among the actors playing members of the 100th Bombardment Group of the US Air Force.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Mr. and Mrs. Smith release date: February 2, 2024
Available on: Prime Video
New comedy series Mr. and Mrs. Smith brings a new twist to the 2005 spy movie. Donald Glover and Maya Erskine take on the roles made famous by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, married couple John and Jane Smith, who enter a new phase in their relationship when they start working as spies for a mysterious agency. Parker Posey, Michaela Coel, John Turturro, and Paul Dano will also make appearances in the eight-part series.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live release date: February 25, 2024
Available on: AMC and AMC Plus
Andrew Lincoln is set to return to the franchise in Rick's own spin-off series – and he won't be alone. Danai Gurira will also return as Michonne, who left her loved ones behind in Alexandria to go search for Rick back in season 10, in the upcoming limited series.
The Walking Dead season 11 finale teased a little of what's to come with Rick finding himself on a muddy shore, discarding his boots, journal, and the phone Michonne discovered in The Walking Dead's 10th season. A helicopter later descends on Rick, asking him to surrender.
In a different place (and different time, too), Michonne is on the hunt for Rick on horseback. The pair, then, appear to be on a collision course ahead of their six-episode series, which is set to air sometime next year.
Fallout
Fallout release date: April 12, 2024
Available on: Prime Video
Based on the video game franchise of the same name, Fallout is a retrofuturistic apocalyptic drama set in an alternate version of Los Angeles where people live in underground bunkers to stay safe from radiation, mutants, and bandits. Agatha: Darkhold Diaries
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries release date: Late 2024
Available on: Disney Plus
After multiple name changes (Agatha: House of Harkness and Agatha: Coven of Chaos are no more) and a delay from winter 2023, the MCU series is now set for release in early fall 2024. Kathryn Hahn reprises her role as the titular witch first seen in WandaVision, and she's joined by new cast members Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, and Patti LuPone.
Daredevil: Born Again
Daredevil: Born Again release date: TBC
Available on: Disney Plus
Charlie Cox's Daredevil is getting another series, having returned in Spider-Man: No Way Home and going on to appear in She-Hulk and Echo, though this will be his first-ever starring role as part of the MCU. Plot details are scarce, though we do know that Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin returns and that the series will be 18 episodes long.
However, we'd say this one may still be a way off as even though filming began in March 2023, it's hit some big delays. Marvel has removed the current creative team and is in the process of replacing them.
Ironheart
Ironheart release date: TBC
Available on: Disney Plus
Not much is known yet about Ironheart, featuring Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams following in the footsteps of her idol, Tony Stark. The character first appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew release date: TBC
Available on: Disney Plus
Skeleton Crew, starring Jude Law, takes place in the same part of the Star Wars timeline as The Mandalorian, and Dave Filoni said at Star Wars Celebration that the shows will all intertwine in "weird ways." Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts is also involved with the show, which is reportedly in pre-production.
Bridgerton season 3
Bridgerton season 3 release date: TBC
Available on: Netflix
Bridgerton is based on Julia Quinn's book series consisting of eight novels that follow each of the eight siblings as they find love. Season 1 and 2 have, appropriately, covered books one and two, which tell Daphne and Anthony's stories. Though it seems likely Bridgerton's third season will be based on the third book in the series, which focuses on Penelope and Colin, producer Shonda Rhimes says that they "may not be going in order" necessarily.
